Hi cuties! Gonna try and squeeze this in before you realize July ended 🙈 It has absolutely raced by. So many amazing things happened! Had many firsts, met new people and had so much fun 💜Got a serious love-hate situation going! Well, mostly love; the only hate being for the fact that I didn’t post on here! Now, let’s see what I’ve loved in the month of June, with a July favorites coming soon! 🙂

Skin

Bearberry and Blackcurrant | Gel Bar (Fiama Di Wills)

After months of using shower gels and scrubs, I went back to basics with soap! This is my favourite kind of soap, the purple one specifically. There is room for improvement on the shape though; it’s huge and tear-drop shaped so it slips outta my hands like a SOB. Other than that, it smells good, has a rich lather, doesn’t dry skin out and looks super cute in the bathroom!

Hair

Taft Keratin Hair Spray (Schwarzkopf)

Been loving this as a final-step finishing spray but it’s so much more than that! It’s got shine and great hold so it’s perfect for heat styling as well as to hold hair in place for any updos. If you’re looking at creating sleek looks (pony tail, top knot or pin back), spray some on a fine toothed comb and brush back the baby hair and fly-aways.

Lips

Wine and Shine | Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick (Sugar)

Holy smokes, this is probably my most favorite liquid lipstick of all time. If you read my May favourites, you know I found my most favourite liquid lipstick. Loved the shade and the formula, but guys… GUYS! This Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick by Sugar costs just Rs 500/- I mean… Doesn’t get better! Also this shade is so freaking glorious! I’ve pretty much been wearing this colour exclusively, all through July.

Nails

Pink Champagne | Color Show Glitter Mania (Maybelline)

Wedding season and festival times call upon glitter of all kinds on all thing why should your nails be left behind? Love this chic, pale pink, ACTUAL glitter (not just shimmer) polish to paint the entire nail with, as well as a french tip with clear or nude polish! Goes well with ethnic wear and delicate mehendi (henna).

Clothing

Palazzo Suit (Vark by Westside)

Any one that knows me knows of my undying love for Westside’s ethnic wear, specifically their three piece suits. Love them to bits. This time I got a mint colored cotton (with a sheen) suit one with a cropped palazzo bottoms, but he big star is the embroidered dupatta! Picked a coral one as well. Would you be interested in seeing an ethnic lookbook? Let me know 🙂

Jewelry

Beaded Drop Earrings (Sukkhi)

Dunno what movie inspired this trend but they’re super cute and I got them on sale 😉 Paired them with the dress and lipstick I mentioned above for a stunning party look.

Shoes

Green Flat Sandals (Carlton London)

Here’s a funny story. I bought these for just one reason, to complete my Pantone 2016 set. I had something of every other colour except Green Flash, so I bought them and I did like them but after having them in my shoe-drobe for months I began regretting buying them at all and tried to sell them off 😛 Fortunately, no one bought and I ended up pairing them with my anniversary party look and it went spectacularly with the OOTD. Greenery ended up being color of the year too, so it was a double whammy! Been wearing it a lot with casual basics and ethnic wear and it goes well with both.

Movie

Gone Girl

Watched this, finally, and really liked it. Went on youtube looking for a trailer to share with you guys, found some recommended videos like “everything wrong with Gone girl”. Watched them and realised the movie I watched and the movie they reviewed are VERY different. I watched the PG 13 version that the censor board approves for TV viewing. Welp, nothing to do but share assuming the full story and gore wouldn’t have altered my opinion of it. It was a pretty good, WTF, holy-shit-that-bitch-crazy kinda movie 😉

TV show

13 Reasons Why

Who hasn’t heard of this? I decide to watch it and I really liked it. It’s got a lot of themes and messages that are very relevant to youngsters especially teens in their formative years. Kids need a proper sit down and be informed what is and isn’t okay. They grow up watching unsupervised content and crazy people on the internet and think that’s the way to be and that’s how the world works but it’s really not and you never know how something affects another. You can’t control how others feel and react but you can control and correct the things you say and do. The show touches on a lot of important topics, suicide being the pivotal issue, but also others like bullying, peer pressure, stalking, sexual harassment, consent, rape, substance abuse, self-harm, the power/evils of social media, friendship or the lack thereof, mental health, dismissal by adults, importance of seeking help and the importance of NICENESS. That’s all the kids needed to do/be. Just be kind to each other, be nice, be respectful and things could have ended differently (I am aware it is fiction, just saying). I want to especially laud them for letting the girls keep their natural hair textures. Wild and crazy natural curls are such a welcome change coz all I saw on TV while growing up were elaborate hairstyle with straight hair. I also appreciate the racial diversity of the cast and not just as stereotypes but as complex individuals! Watch it 🙂

Song

Shell Shocked (Juicy J, Wiz Khalifa, Ty Dolla $ign – ft. Kill The Noise & Madsonik)

Perfect workout song, no? I wouldn’t know coz I’m a potato but I’m assuming this is what you’re looking for to get you motivated! It get’s me pumped in bed itself so I’m sure it’s especially potent when you’re actually moving 😛

Me & Comfortable With It (Bata India)

I saw this campaign on Instagram and I really liked it but for the life of me I can’t seem to find it. Searched their profile and me liked posts section to no avail. This version is slightly different and male-bashy than the one I saw on Insta (or maybe they’re the same, I just remember it differently?) but it’s a nice ad with a positive message!

Food

Original Green Tea (Tetley)

After a month of no green tea I’m super happy to get back to drinking this! I didn’t see a differnce in my weight when I stopped using it, but it’s packed full of goodness and is part of my morning (okay, noon coz I don’t do mornings) routine! I do love some routines, makes room for me to be able to think of and accomplish other things.

Person

Sofia Ashraf

This cutie is goals!!! Not only is she a talented rapper/writer, I love her story of emancipation and self expression. She’s in a lot of videos for the Blush channel (which I adore!) but this is probably my favourite creation from our Sista From The South!

– BOOK OF THE MONTH –

Another month of no reading 🙁

– MOVIE OF THE MONTH –

Wonder Woman

A female led, super heroine movie, directed by a female for a male AND female audience, offensive as the gender tags may be, are what made this movie the biggest success of the DC Universe. It isn’t just boobs boobs boobs; her armor is much more like armor (as compared to the comics) and can pass off as ancient warrior garb (considering she’s a demigod and doesn’t need a full body suit, but the heels on the boots are ridiculous and unnecessary). Also her battle theme music is bomb! Movie was good, a fun watch, but people seem to hold differing opinions on it. What are your thoughts?

I hope you like this post! 🙂
